Countryman Estates is in the Bucks Lake Region of Plumas County, CA. This is the original Countryman cabin (1870’s land grant). The area was sub-divided into 1 or more acre lots in the 1980’s and called Countyman Estates. Countryman Cabin sits on over 11 acres and is bounded by National Forest on 2 sides with 2 creeks running through the property.
Bucks Lake gets as much as 20 feet of snow on the ground in the winter! ( March 2011) The roads are not plowed so the access is by snowmobiles and tracked vehicles from the summit, 7 miles away. There are over 120 miles of groomed trails to ride upon as well all the Plumas National Forest in the area. Snowmobiling and ATVing is great family fun.
Summer sports a Lake with 14 miles of shoreline, half is in a “wilderness area” (no vehicles, only foot traffic), also the Feather River Canyon and the Middle Fork of the Feather River, a true remote wilderness area. Boating, fishing, water skiing , hiking the Pacific Crest Trail ( less than a mile from the cabin) hunting, camping, kayaking, off roading, are our favorites.
Thanks to all our friends and guests who have stayed and enjoyed bar b que’s, and campfires at the Countryman cabin with us.
Thanks to “Red” for the site!
